Good Samaritan Healthcare Outreach Ministry --
Dedicated volunteers serve weekly with Good Sam Ministry helping new patients and spouses adjust to a new living environment. VBC sponsors Good Sam Bingo ,no gambling, every 4th Wednesday of each month from 3:30 until 4:30 p.m. This is not only an opportunity to serve, but also to give encouragement, pray, demonstrate love, or to share one’s faith. Teams of 5-8 assist approximately 14-20 patients, with Bingo, assisting with walkers, wheelchairs, set up for Bingo, gift cart for prizes, and sound system. Volunteers celebrate birthdays, serve refreshments, bake cookies. The task is so simple… a hug to share, a smile to give, a listening ear, or a caring heart. It can absolutely make a difference in a life that feels so lonely and forgotten. When we care for them, we have cared for Jesus too! The Lord often stretches us in areas of serving that we might have never considered.....often moving us out of our own comfort zone. Scripture encourages us to use the gifts and talents God has given us, for Him. Both men and women are welcome to serve should the Lord so lead. If you have a desire and heart to serve with this encouraging ministry you will be truly blessed and we will be very thankful!
