A vibrant part of the Women’s Ministry of Village Bible Church, Saints Alive! is dedicated to bringing women  together to equip them for life and ministry.  This will be accomplished through monthly morning and evening meetings, featuring programs that encourage caring, learning, reaching out and growing in faith in Jesus Christ.  Each year, there will also be programs that focus on missions (individuals and/or organizations).

The leadership board is in the process of developing monthly programs that you will surely not want to miss. Please check the calendar below and for further information,  E-mail Michele Beale (mbbeale@suddenlink.net)

Two short courses, one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament for those new to Precept studies, for those who would like to learn to study the Bible for themselves, as well as seasoned Precept students.

You can trust God. Experience what it’s like when God places his hand on the lives of His people in Ezra and Haggai to prove He is the promise-keeping God.

How do you live with integrity in a nation without morals? Can the church effectively engage and change this destructive condition in our society? How does your life reflect your faith? In Titus you can discover how to change the culture into which God has called you.

Daniel Part 1 - Living Out a Biblical Worldview

Kay Arthur Precept Study

Does the turmoil in our government, the uprisings abroad, or the spiritual decay of America have anything to do with the book of Daniel? Daniel was a man who knew the Word and the God of the Word. He made an impact on the people that God placed in his life. How do you live as a Daniel in the crucial days in which you find yourself? How do you get to know God Most High and reflect Him to others? The prophetic book of Daniel has the timely answers.

An organization to minister to single women – widows, unmarrieds and divorcees.  The groups will meet to enjoy meals and activities that they choose to engender friendship and Christian fellowship.   If you have an interest in this ministry, please contact Jeanette DeVinney at 915-9474 or jeanettedevinney@sbcglobal.net

Ladies’ Bible Class

Class is held Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM in Room 150.  Open to everyone and does not require advance preparation.  Jeanne Godbold - (Godboldj@arkansas.net)

“Sweet Hour of Prayer”

The group meets once a week for approximately one hour.  This limited time frame gives busy Villagers an opportunity to participate.  We meet to pray, more than share; so in that spirit, plan to praise God, confess spiritual needs, thank Him and make requests from the beginning of our time together.  Grow closer to the Lord as you pray with others in a small group setting.  Group meets Thursday, 1 PM @ VBC.

Rebecca Coplin - (RCoplin@sbcglobal.net) – Janice Morrow - (2morrowshsv@att.net)

Women gather together or work individually to sew dresses, shorts, and backpacks for HIV/AIDS orphans in Congo. They also use their artistic talent to make “Scripture Cards” used in hospital and prison ministry, Sunday Schools, and HIV/AIDS education for young people. These cards are often hung as the only decoration in their home.

Saints Alive! Orphan Adoption and ELIKYA Project

VBC women recently chose to sponsor a 10 year old orphan girl in Congo named Demomo Christine.  Her parents died in the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa but through the EFCA Global Fingerprints adoption program, she is able to go to school, own a backpack and school supplies, visit the doctor and hear God’s Word; learning how much Jesus loves her.

When missionary Rachel Martin visited us at our February meeting, we were honored to contribute to a special offering for the ELIKYA Training Center in Congo.  Evangelical Free Church of Congo is constructing this center to train widows, orphans, people with disabilities and unwed mothers in life skills such as agriculture, sewing, carpentry, as well as effective discipleship.  These trainees can return to their villages and teach others to use these skills to earn a living as well as share the salvation message with them.

Operation Christmas Child

Fill a shoebox with Christmas gifts and necessities for a third-world child.

Ann Penwell - (alpfrp@sbcglobal.net)

Share your heart and some encouraging words with the residents of Good Sam facility.  Assist as “super seniors” play games or just visit.  Group meets 4th Wednesday of each month from 3-4:30 PM.  Mary Ellen Mathias - (angel05@suddenlink.net)

Good Samaritan Ministry

Glenhaven Girls Ministry

Forty-five minutes north of HSV is Glenhaven Youth Ranch, which provides a home for teenagers unable to live at their own homes.  The VBC Glenhaven Girls Ministry provides a car load of aunt and grandmother types to pass on life skills to the girls living there.  We spend a few hours once a month enjoying the young ladies and the staff as we share our skills and lives with them.  For example, some of this year’s projects have been:  card-making, manicures, cutting up whole chickens and making stock, knitting, jewelry, make-up, budgeting, pies, music, crafts, games, and cookies.  Note the pictures to get the flavor!  Coordinator:  Sara Sue Fuller - (sarasue42@sbcglobal.net) 922-4705

All women are invited to register or attend
